Urban Legend, directed by Jamie Blanks, has this interesting blend of horror and mystery that keeps you guessing. The pacing feels right for a late-90s slasher, building tension without losing sight of its playful nods to urban legends. The atmosphere is a nice mix of college campus life and creeping dread, which really sets the tone. The practical effects are quite solid for its time, and some scenes really stand out, like the killer's methods—definitely shocking and creative. The performances are decent, too, especially Alicia Witt, who brings a relatable depth to her character. It’s this blend of campiness and genuine scares that makes it a curious watch, albeit more for the genre enthusiast than the casual viewer.
