Vacancy is one of those flicks that really nails a claustrophobic vibe. It’s got that gritty, low-budget feel that enhances the tension. Nimród Antal does a decent job with pacing, keeping you on edge without dragging things out too much. The performances from Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson are solid; they really sell the fear and desperation. What stands out are the practical effects—nothing over-the-top, but just enough to give you that unsettling feeling. The way it plays with the concept of voyeurism adds a layer of discomfort, and the isolated motel setting feels almost like a character in itself. Not groundbreaking, but it has its moments that stick with you.
