Venus the girl who hurt

Set shortly after the destruction of the Gorgopotamos bridge, the story follows two Cypriot students, Loukas and Christoforos, as they decide to join the Greek army. They embark on a journey to escape to the Middle East, aided by Papa-Sinisios and a cabaret singer. Their mission takes a tragic turn when they encounter a German frigate, leading to Loukas being lost at sea.

The impact of Loukas's disappearance is felt back in Cyprus, where his beloved, Aphrodite, is plunged into grief. Her father plans to marry her off to Telis, further complicating the emotional landscape. As the war comes to an end, Loukas returns, but he is forced to deny his love for Aphrodite in a letter dictated by her father. The story unfolds with themes of loyalty and love as Aphrodite continues to hold onto her feelings for Loukas, ultimately freeing herself from Telis to be with him.
