Waiting for the Sea

The film follows sailor Marat, who is burdened by the condemnation of his village after a storm washes away his wife and several fishermen. In a desperate attempt to restore what he has lost, Marat returns to his village to rebuild his shipwreck in the desert. His quest is driven by the hope of bringing back the sea and the dead, with only a few believing in his vision.

Marat's journey is intertwined with the support of his friend Balthasar and the unrequited love of Tamara, the sister of his deceased wife. Tamara's faith in Marat's dream, despite her feelings for him, adds emotional depth to the narrative. The film culminates in a poignant moment when the sea mysteriously returns, bringing with it the potential for resolution and reckoning.
