Wake Up, Arezu!

The film depicts the immediate chaos following the earthquake that devastates a village near Bam. The protagonist, a young teacher, emerges from the rubble only to find that she must confront the grim reality of loss as she seeks rescue aid for her fellow villagers. Her journey leads her to the town of Bam, where the true extent of the disaster becomes apparent.

In the hospital, she encounters overwhelming scenes of suffering and death, while the cries for help echo around her. Guided by a cleric's advice, she takes on the somber task of washing the bodies of women who have died in the tragedy. The emotional weight of her actions is compounded when a prisoner requests her help to care for his deceased family members, adding a personal connection to the broader devastation.
