So, 'Webs' is this intriguing blend of horror and sci-fi that pulls you into a grimy underworld where just about everything feels off-kilter. Richard Greico, surprisingly solid here, heads a crew of electrical workers who are searching for a bizarre power source. They end up in a parallel universe filled with these grotesque, massive spider-like creatures that really bring the horror element to life. The practical effects are pretty impressive, especially considering the low budget. The pacing meanders a bit but it works well, slowly building tension before the chaos ensues. There’s a certain rawness to it that, while not polished, gives it a unique character. It’s definitely not your run-of-the-mill creature feature, and there's a certain charm in its imperfections.
