Wheelman is an interesting take on the heist genre. Jeremy Rush really nails the tension throughout, using a confined setting that keeps you locked in. Most of the film unfolds in the getaway car, which gives it a unique claustrophobic vibe. The pacing is relentless, with each twist revealing layers of betrayal that keep you guessing. Frank Grillo's performance as the titular driver is gritty and raw, really grounding the chaos around him. There's a nice blend of practical effects and smart camera work that adds to the immersion. Themes of trust and survival weave throughout, making it more than just a simple action flick. It's one of those films that sticks with you in a subtle way, demanding your attention as the story unfolds.
