When the Storks Fly Away

Set in the village of Redu Mare, When the Storks Fly Away tells the story of Christian Luka, a solitary old man dedicated to his vineyard. Upon learning of plans to demolish his cherished vineyard for new vines, he feels defeated and contemplates stepping aside for the younger generation. However, the chairman of the collective farm recognizes Christian's despair and makes the decision to preserve the vineyard, allowing Christian to reconnect with his passion for wine growing.

As Christian resumes work on his vineyard, he finds renewed energy and purpose. His transformation leads him to engage with the community, moving from isolation to active participation in village life. The film explores themes of legacy, community, and the importance of good deeds, offering a poignant reflection on aging and connection to others.
