So, 'Where The Devil Dwells' is an interesting piece from 2014. It dives into the mind of a character grappling with schizophrenia while under house arrest. The atmosphere is pretty unsettling, and the pacing keeps you on edge. You’re not quite sure what’s real and what’s a figment of his troubled mind. The performances are raw, especially from the lead, and they really sell the internal conflict. There's a tangible sense of dread that hangs over the film, and the practical effects, though not overdone, manage to stick with you. It feels distinctly different because it tackles mental illness alongside the horror trope of a killer father coming back. Not your run-of-the-mill slasher, for sure.
Schizophrenia and horror blend uniquely here.Practical effects are subtle yet effective.Explores complex themes of reality and fear.
