Whispering Stillness

The film centers on Aki, the young daughter of the Iwatas, who has been missing for five years. The family grapples with their grief in different ways: Masayuki, the husband, longs for a sense of normalcy and wishes to move forward, while Ryoko, the wife, is consumed by her memories and rituals surrounding Aki. She spends her days writing Aki's name on notebooks and caring for an unused backpack, symbolizing her unresolved pain.

Their lives take an unexpected turn when they meet Rina, a pregnant young woman who offers to help distribute missing person flyers. This new friendship allows Ryoko to connect with someone and provides a glimmer of hope amidst her sorrow. The film delves into the emotional complexities of relationships strained by tragedy and the quest for closure.
