White Water Summer is an intriguing blend of adventure and drama that really pulls you into the wilderness. The film explores the dynamics between the seasoned guide Vic and these city boys, who are clearly out of their element. Jeff Bleckner manages to capture that tension beautifully, balancing moments of high pressure with introspective scenes. The pacing shifts between thrilling river rafting action and quieter, more contemplative moments that showcase growth, or lack thereof, in the characters. The performances are quite solid, especially from the lead, who portrays Vic with a certain grit. You really feel the weight of the wilderness in this film, which is enhanced by the practical effects and on-location shooting. It's a raw look at personal challenge and mentorship, with all its complexities.
