Who Looks for Gold?

The narrative follows Lada, who struggles to find his place after returning from military service. As he grapples with the expectations of a job that encourages underperformance, his girlfriend employs various tactics to keep him in the city. Eventually, Lada takes on a position as a truck driver for a dam-building project, which becomes a vehicle for both his personal struggles and unintended consequences.

While Lada attempts to maintain his relationship through weekend visits, he remains oblivious to the darker activities surrounding his job. The truck he drives is implicated in black-market smuggling, adding a layer of complexity to his situation. The film offers a glimpse into life in Prague during the 1970s, reflecting the societal challenges and personal conflicts of the time.
