Willkommen im Westerwald

The film follows Ahmad, an Iraqi asylum seeker navigating his uncertain residency in Germany. Sent to the quiet village of Weilershagen, he finds himself at the center of a cultural shift when he charms pub owner Katja with his passion for American line dancing.

As Ahmad and Katja's relationship develops, they inspire the village policeman Ulli and others to form a secret line dance group, training for the German championships. However, their efforts face challenges from a community hesitant to accept an outsider's influence. The story unfolds with themes of acceptance, love, and jealousy, showcasing the complexities of village life as Ahmad's residency hangs in the balance.
