Winning Pitcher

The film follows Katsumi, who disguises herself as a boy to play baseball. When she is discovered by Hoshiyama, the manager of the Chunichi Dragons, she gets the opportunity to join the team and prove her talent as a pitcher.

As Katsumi navigates her new role, she befriends Oikawa, the team’s catcher. Together, they face challenges and skepticism from her teammates and opponents, but Katsumi's skills ultimately lead the Dragons to success. Winning Pitcher blends sports with personal growth, making it a unique entry in the animation genre of the late 1980s.
