Witches' Brew is a curious blend of comedy and horror that really captures that early '80s vibe. Directed by Richard Shorr, it’s about three women who dabble in witchcraft to give their professor husbands a leg up, but, as you’d expect, things get messy when ambition kicks in. The atmosphere is surprisingly engaging, with a mix of light-hearted moments and darker undertones. The pacing feels a bit uneven at times, but it kind of works for the quirky nature of the film. Practical effects are a highlight, giving that tangible charm that’s often missing in today’s CGI-laden flicks. Performances are decent, with a certain campiness that adds to the whole experience. It's definitely distinct in its take on female camaraderie and competition.
Interesting take on female relationships.Notable practical effects for its time.Quirky tone may not appeal to everyone.
