Worldly Desires

Worldly Desires presents a narrative about a couple escaping their family to search for a spiritual tree in the jungle. The film blends daytime storytelling with nighttime musical elements, featuring a song that reflects on love and the quest for happiness. Apichatpong Weerasethakul collaborated with filmmaker Pimpaka Towira to create this experimental project.

The story includes the work of a co-writer who revisits a forbidden love tale set in a romantic past. The inclusion of the pop song "Will I be Lucky?" adds to the film's exploration of love and freedom. This film not only showcases a unique artistic vision but also serves as a tribute to the memories of filmmaking in the jungle during the early 2000s.
