Yongju Valley is an intriguing blend of drama and romance, though it has a gritty undertone reflecting the seedy underbelly of its setting. The pacing feels a bit uneven, swinging from intense moments of conflict to the slower, almost voyeuristic exploration of online broadcasting. Yong-hwa, the gangster protagonist, finds himself caught between the pressures of the criminal world and the allure of the digital age, which is a pretty interesting theme. The performances, especially by BJ Marshal, have a rawness that adds to the film's atmosphere, capturing that desperate energy. The jealousy subplot with BJ Bang-wool brings some tension, but it’s the stark reality of Yong-hwa's choices that lingers. Definitely a unique watch, not your typical romance.
