Yövartija vain…

The film centers on Old Virtanen, a respected night watchman at a textile factory who is also a dedicated single father to his daughter Aino. As Aino approaches her high school graduation, the heartless factory owner Kuusela dismisses Virtanen from his job, leading him to search for new employment. The plot thickens when Aino, who is in love with the manager's son Veikko, mysteriously disappears after her graduation party.

As Virtanen grapples with the stress of his situation, he falls ill with worry about his daughter’s safety. The film captures the challenges of working-class life in early 20th-century Finland, exploring themes of family, love, and despair. The strong performances by the cast, including Aku Korhonen and Regina Linnanheimo, add depth to this dramatic narrative.
