Zhang Juzheng

The play Zhang Juzheng, part of the 北京人艺 collection, is co-directed by Feng Yuanzheng and Yan Rui. It presents the inner journey of Zhang Juzheng, who served as grand secretary during the Ming Dynasty. The narrative alternates between reality and unreality, revealing the dramatic conflicts he faced amidst his reforms.

Set against a visually striking backdrop, the stage design features three dragon thrones and eight red pillars, contributing to a unique aesthetic. The production employs innovative cinematic techniques and narrative shots that enhance the overall audio-visual experience.
