Zobani

Set against the backdrop of a military barracks, Zobani tells the story of Private Adam, a librarian who enters the army with a commitment to peace. He quickly becomes a target for bullying by the senior soldiers, leading to a physical confrontation that lands him in the hospital. The film vividly portrays the struggle against systemic abuse and the consequences of standing up for one’s beliefs.

Another key character, Private Banýr, an artistic blacksmith, faces even graver dangers, ultimately becoming a victim of the violent culture within the unit. Together, Adam and Aladar, a gypsy, attempt to escape the oppressive environment, but their plan ends tragically. Zobani tackles themes of friendship, resistance, and the harsh realities of military life.
