Zu jeder Stunde

The story follows soldier Martin, who finds himself in a small village after being relocated. During a storm, he rescues Renate, the daughter of a farmer, and they quickly fall in love. This romance creates conflict, as Renate's father has already promised her to Grabow, the son of a wealthy farmer, who is determined to keep them apart.

As tensions escalate, Grabow plans to escape East Germany with the assistance of lance-corporal Zimmer, who owes him a favor.
