Zwischen Strom und Steppe

The film follows Silo, a beloved bum who is found wounded on the banks of the Theiss River. The local fishermen rescue him, and Maria, the young wife of Alexander Renka, tends to his wounds. As Silo recovers, he becomes embroiled in the mystery surrounding Alexander's strange behavior and eventual death, which adds a layer of tension to the narrative.

The drama unfolds as Maria suspects her husband of infidelity with a gypsy named Panna. Her instincts lead her to make a significant decision to leave her husband and her hometown, seeking refuge in her homeland of the steppe. The intertwining tales of love, jealousy, and untimely death create a gripping atmosphere that reflects the complexities of human relationships in a small community.
